PreVent-It Limited Warranty

The following terms cover the 1-year limited warranty on the PreVent-It Soffit Vent.

LIMITED WARRANTY

The PreVent-It Soffit Vent has a 1-year limited warranty from the date of purchase covering manufacturing defects in material and workmanship. The warranty applies to the original purchaser, subject to the conditions outlined below. This warranty only applies to the normal use of the PreVent-It Soffit Vent and when installed following the manufacturer's published instructions. This warranty does not cover any labor costs, including those required for field repair or replacement or removal of any allegedly defective part.


PROOF OF PURCHASE

The original purchaser must provide proof of purchase in the form of a sales receipt or other document.


REMEDIES

If the manufacturer, Novelty Manufacturing Co., determines there is a defect covered under this limited warranty, Novelty Manufacturing Co. will either refund the original purchase or replace the soffit vent without charge to the original purchaser. The maximum liability will not exceed the original purchase price.

LIMITED LIABILITY

The obligations and liabilities of Novelty Manufacturing Co. under this limited warranty or any implied warranty, do not include any responsibility for damages whether general or specific, direct or indirect, consequential, incidental, exemplary, or otherwise, except as described herein.

LIMITATIONS

Novelty Manufacturing Co. will not be liable for, and this limited warranty does not apply to:
a. failure, defect, damage, or loss resulting when the PreVent-It Soffit Vent is not installed properly following the manufacturer's printed instructions.
b. damages due to causes beyond normal use and service including, but not limited to:

  1. Fire, flood, hail, lightning, windstorm, acts of God, or any natural disaster.
  2. Improper storage or handling of the PreVent-It Soffit Vent.
  3. Alteration, unreasonable use, accident, or negligence.
  4. Any cause other than manufacturing defects.
  5. Labor costs, including those required for field repair or replacement or removal of any allegedly defective part.
  6. Claims by subsequent owners or transferees. This warranty is personal to the original consumer-purchaser and is not assignable or transferable under any circumstance.
  7. Any damage due to the interior or to the exterior of any building or any property contained therein, or for any injuries or damages sustained by any person, or consequential or special damages of any kind whatsoever.

NOTIFICATION OF CLAIMS

All claims for remedy under this limited warranty must be submitted in writing via our Contact Us form, together with proof of purchase, installation date, and an explanation of the alleged defect, within thirty (30) days of discovery.

Novelty Manufacturing Co. reserves the right of inspection of the PreVent-It Soffit Vent by an authorized representative before the settlement of any claim and the purchaser must allow reasonable investigation of the claim.


SOLE WARRANTY

This limited warranty is exclusive and replaces all other warranties whether express or implied and may not be changed or modified. Any implied warranty including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, shall be limited to the terms and conditions of the expressed warranty set forth herein. No representative, employee, or agent of Novelty Manufacturing Co., or any other person has the right to assume for Novelty Manufacturing Co. any additional liability or responsibility for damages as described above. This limited warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may have other rights, which vary, from state to state.
